I see my life as an ongoing journey of learning and exploring. The destination is not set and is not important to me, that is what makes life so exciting. Just as with my paintings, I want to surprise myself with the outcome. There are so many beautiful things in this world and painting has helped me to focus on any small or big object to see the pristine beauty of it. It can be an entire object, or a part of it. I believe beauty can be found everywhere, you just have to look close enough!
From my journey, that has involved moving from one end of the world to the other and to the other, I have learned that wherever you live there is always something beautiful and there are always wonderful people. In my painting, I try to find the beauty of a specific object or situation and my hope is that the viewer will see the same.
In my previous professional career, I was the chief financial officer of Heland Wetterling Galleries in Stockholm, which represents American contemporary artists. It was there that I got my inspiration to paint from the artist James Rosenquist. I now live in San Diego and I am one of the artists at the Losina Art Center.
I hope you enjoy my paintings, and I look forward to your comments.
